Good Faith Estimate
Updated July 2026
You have the right to a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost
At Lauren King Therapy, transparency is a vital part of building a safe therapeutic relationship. Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" outlining the expected cost of your mental health care.
What You Need to Know:
Who it’s for: This applies if you do not have health insurance, or if you choose not to use your insurance to pay for therapy (self-pay).
The Timeline: You will receive a written estimate at least 1 business day before your first scheduled session. You can also request an estimate before scheduling.
The Right to Dispute: If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the legal right to dispute it.
Keep a Record: Be sure to save a copy or screenshot of your estimate for your files.
